Mini Robot Ted Talk Feedback

The word that kept coming to my head while watching the Ted Talk was "cute". I would personally love the mini robot just because it's adorable, smart, and a unique way to connect with others using it. I think that's a fabulous idea. I'm not sure on the success of it just yet, but I would like to see further advances to the concept.

A Skateboard, with a boost Feedback

The Ted Talk was really engaging and had a fun vibe to it. The man was inviting and the presentation was well put together. I think the product is a good idea, but I don't know if it will be very successful.

Teen Talk Feedback

I thought the Teen Talk with the teenage girl that is a designer and blogger was nice. I believed she had some good points on certain things people expect from teenage girls, and what they expect from themselves. Her delivery was unique and different. You can tell she was passionate about what she was talking about.

Da'Manise Ted Talk on Performing In Front of Huge Crowds

Introduction: Hi my name is Da’Manise Smith and I am a part of Mr. Jay Rehak’s 5th period Interdisciplinary Writing Class. When presented the task of coming up with an idea on what I could do a Ted Talk I had no idea on what I could do. I racked my brain with different ideas and things I do well. I know I sing, dance, act, write, am a big sister of six siblings, I love to give advice and help people. So I thought for a while on what I could do and it came to me in an instant on what all those things have made me better at, performing in front of huge crowds. I used to be a shy person with plenty of talent, but my shyness sometimes held me back. When I got involved in some more activities I began to break out of my shell. It built up my confidence and now, even if I still get the common butterflies, I am more confident about performing in front of huge crowds.
I came up with a list of a few pointers or tips if you want to call them on your confidence while on stage, your appearance, and your delivery. All of these can help you out. I also know that each person individually can bring a unique aspect to their performance. It’s your duty to find that within yourself, and that is what sets you aside from the rest. Be yourself.
So here are the tips:
Get in your own zone- By this I mean find that place where nobody can touch you mentally. Speak words of encouragement to yourself so that when you are on stage nothing can distract you from the goal your performance.
Black out the audience- I used to do this when I was younger when I had singing performances, or plays, or dance recitals, or even cheer competitions. Whatever kind of performance it is when you’re in your zone and focused on what you are doing the audience kinds of fades away. Now I’m not saying ignore the audience, that will defeat the purpose of having a great performance, but it’s a little trick to find a spot in the back of the audience, or have a spot you always come back to, to focus on but every once in a while glance around just so the audience feels engaged. Trust me, it works.
Next, always speak clearly- There is nothing worse for a person to go in front of a crowd and then nobody understands what they are saying. Slow down your words, not too slow and enunciate everything. Then people will understand you a lot better.
Speak loud- not too loud, but you want everyone to hear what you have to say.
Have confidence- Nobody will be engaged in your performance or believe it if you don’t believe it yourself. Over time when you have more performances this part will become easier to obtain.
Get your performance across- It doesn’t matter what you are doing, singing, dancing, or doing magic shows. You want to captivate the audience, bring them in to your world. So when they leave, they have something to remember and talk about.
Stand strong- This shows confidence
And lastly- Let your personality shine through. As I said earlier each individual person has a unique aspect that can bring to a performance that sets them aside from everybody else. This is what people really remember and this is what will make you succeed at a great performance in front of any crowd.
So that’s what wraps it up, if you remember these few tips, you’re guaranteed to be a success in performing in front of huge crowds. Thank you.
